This informative, interactive workshop provides individuals and organizations with a foundational understanding of what mindfulness is, the proven health and business benefits, and an understanding of what it means to be mindful. Includes:
Participants will learn how mindfulness can transform the challenges of the workplace into valuable opportunities for personal and professional growth and enhanced effectiveness. Through discussion and practice, we learn how mindfulness can help us develop balance, concentration, resilience, communication, connection with others, integrity, compassion, and meaning—characteristics that allow us to thrive in the workplace. Most of us spend the majority of our day working or thinking about work. Often, our jobs can feel like an uncontrollable journey – sometimes exhilarating, other times discouraging, creatively fulfilling, or tragically toxic. But is it the job that is distressing or is it the mind that we bring to the task? Participants will learn how mindfulness can transform the annoyances, conflicts, and anxieties of the workplace into valuable opportunities for professional and personal growth. Through discussion and practice, we learn how mindfulness can help us develop honesty, agility, openness, courage, maturity, respect, and authenticity – characteristics that allow us to thrive in the workplace. Expectations The program requires effort and consistency. Mindfulness and meditation can only be of lasting value if you have the discipline to practice regularly, as well as the motivation to try and be mindful throughout your day. Daily practice is expected. Meditation is an important part of mindfulness, whether you initially enjoy it or not, as it awakens you to your current situation. When you practice with an alert and open mind for just a little bit of time, you will begin to recognize the benefits that naturally occur and become accustomed to the practice.
This program includes mindfulness meditation practice and practical applications of mindful leadership to explore ways in which our ability to create space in our day affects our ability to lead—whether we are leading an organization, team, our family, or daily life.
