Reduce stress and anxiety by promoting awareness, presence, compassion, reflection, and inspiration – the inner resources needed for students to flourish, socially, emotionally and academically. Students will learn to bring greater calm, mindfulness, and awareness into the classroom and life to enhance their relationships. The program also promotes empathy and compassion through caring practice and mindful listening activities. Enhancing Resiliency for Students (One-hour to 90-minute workshop or six-week class)
The ability to lead begins with the process of self-discovery, self-awareness, and self-leadership, which will enhance the ability to lead others. In this workshop, students will learn how to cultivate attention and awareness that allows them to live all aspects of their lives with a sense of skill, connection, openness, and balance. Mindful Student Leader Workshop (One-hour to one-day workshop)
Weekly, informal mindfulness and/or meditation drop-in sessions for faculty and staff. No previous mindfulness knowledge or experience required. Weekly Mindfulness Sessions (30 min)
Designed to teach mindfulness, meditation, and stress management to college students. Mindfulness has been shown to provide significant improvement in anxiety, depression, and stress reactivity, and reduce implicit bias for college students. This workshop teaches participants proven mindfulness awareness and concentration practices. Through guided mindfulness meditation, small group discussions, and mindful movement, students learn how to ease a busy mind, direct and sustain attention, investigate emotions and feelings, cultivate compassion for themselves and others, and improve communication in their relationships. Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present, and aware of where we are and what we are doing. It allows us to not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what is going on around us but change our relationship to it.
