Student Leadership Programs and Workshops
Five Practices of Exemplary Student Leadership
The best-selling book comes to life in this comprehensive leadership program. Based on the award-winning, best-selling book, The Student Leadership Challenge® by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner, The Five Practices of Exemplary Student Leadership takes the wisdom of The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership® and infuses it with the high-energy and engaging activities, to bring you a leadership program that will impact your student leaders and school community.
This program experience can be implemented for college students through a workshop series, academic curriculum, or a one day workshop. There are endless possibilities, though, and you need not feel constrained by those choices.
Emotionally Intelligent Leadership (EIL)
EIL is the ability to consciously focus the three facets of leadership – self, others, context – and facilitate appropriate attitudes and behaviors to achieve desired outcomes. EIL synthesizes two major bodies of research and theory: emotional intelligence and leadership. Emotional intelligence is the ability to monitor one’s own and others’ feelings and emotions. Leadership is a relationship between individuals working toward a common goal. The EIL model provides a practical roadmap for students to learn more about themselves, how to work more productively with others, improve relationships, and be more effective in a leadership capacity.
EIL is the ability to be conscious of three fundamental facets that contribute to the leadership dynamic: context, self, and others. These three facets overlap yet are independent of each other. Each facet consists of specific capacities that can be developed. A person’s ability to monitor all three facets intentionally will enhance their ability to lead effectively. EIL emphasizes that leadership is a learnable skill that is not just for those in official roles in formal organizations.
This program experience can be implemented for college students through a workshop series, academic curriculum, or a one day workshop. There are endless possibilities, though, and you need not feel constrained by those choices.
